ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions becomes Young Enterprise Business Backer

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland has demonstrated its dedication to the future entrepreneurs of Northern Ireland by becoming a YE Impact Business Backer.

Young Enterprise Northern Ireland is an entrepreneurship education charity, working with schools to develop entrepreneurial skills.

Young Enterprise Northern Ireland launched its Business Backers campaign in a bid to replace the loss of over £500,000 in Department of Education funding. The charity has already had over 60 businesses pledge to ensure young people can access Young Enterprise school-based business programmes.

ASSA ABLOY’s contribution allows 50 young people to experience Young Enterprise’s school programmes each month, backing them to have entrepreneurial, enterprise and financial skills.

As a supporter of the Business Backer campaign, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland has set a precedent for the rest of the business community, pledging its support to ensure young people are equipped with the skills and mindset to build thriving communities and a prosperous future in NI.

Business duty to prepare young people

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland says it is serious about providing a positive social impact to its local community, using Young Enterprise as a platform to drive positive change in NI, understanding that young people will face unprecedented challenges and that it is the duty of the business community to work together and prepare them to tackle whatever may lie ahead.

Brian Sofley, managing director explained: “ASSA ABLOY is a great believer in nurturing the next generation, and helping to create new opportunities to enable young people to thrive, no matter what environment they are in.
