A faith museum in County Durham has been named the 2024 winner of the Building Beauty Awards.
The awards from the Royal Fine Art Commission Trust celebrate the best of beautiful new architecture and the 2024 awards were presented by His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester on 21 November.
The Faith Museum was designed by Níall McLaughlin Archiects and is a unique museum exploring 6,000 years of British history through the lens of faith. It sits in the historic Grade-1 listed Scotland wing of Auckland Palace. The custom built extension from Níall McLaughlin was inspired by a medieval tithe barn.
Other 2024 winners include the Westminster Coroner’s Court Extension, The Grand Courtyard and Pavilion at The OWO and HS2 Colne Valley Viaduct.
