Retrofit skills hub launched to support London’s net zero goals

The South London Partnership (SLP) has established a new online hub for retrofit skills

The Retrofit Skills Centre offers training and qualifications which aim to support the growing demand for retrofit skills across the construction workforce.

The SLP, a sub-regional collaboration of five boroughs across the capital, estimates it will take more than 66,000 person years to decarbonise buildings across south London.

The new green skills offering is part of the SLP’s commitment to support London’s 2030 net zero targets and focuses on boosting the green jobs sector across Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond upon Thames and Sutton.

Through the launch of the Retrofit Skills Centre, the SLP aims to support the goal of making 635,000 south London properties more energy efficient over the next decade.

Courses on the online hub include training in PAS 2035-identified roles, such as retrofit coordinator and retrofit assessor, as well as a range of installation NVQs and apprenticeships.
