Entries are invited for the Royal Fine Art Commission Trust’s 2023 Building Beauty Awards, sponsored by developer Ballymore. The awards celebrate buildings, engineering structures and urban landscaping schemes that add beauty to Britain.
The cash prize of £12,000 for the overall winner makes this the richest prize in UK architecture. And the winner will go on to represent the UK in the race to be crowned the world’s most beautiful new building at the World Architecture Festival in Singapore in November.
UK projects completed since the start of 2022 and visible to the public are eligible. Everyone from architects to members of the public is welcome to submit an entry at buildingbeautyawards.com. The deadline for entries is 2 May.
Stephen Bayley Hon FRIBA, chairman of the Royal Fine Art Commission Trust and one of Britain’s foremost design critics, will chair the judging panel. The winners will be announced at an award ceremony in London in November 2023.
Tintagel Castle Footbridge in Cornwall was named overall winner of the 2022 Building Beauty Awards, presented by Lord Foster of Thames Bank at the Bloomberg European Headquarters in London.
