Squire will be celebrating 245 years of lock making by revealing its newest padlock and showcasing its smart access control system at this year’s MLA Show.
Attendees to the stand will see SS100 LEV 5, an enhanced version of ‘the world’s strongest padlock’ the SS100CS and witness the brand’s inigma smart wireless access control system in action.
Squire has been manufacturing in the West Midlands since 1780, when William Squire began making padlocks as well as door and cabinet locks. Since that time, Squire has supported the British Army in the Napoleonic Wars and World War Two, while continuing to grow the business into a global brand.
The company has passed down through eight generations to its current CEO John Squire, who has overseen some of the biggest shifts and technological advancements from the company.
The SS100 LEV 5 padlock receives an SR5 rating from the LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board). The new world’s strongest padlock, the SS100 LEV 5, builds on its predecessor with the addition of Tungsten Carbide armouring. This gives the padlock anti-angle grinder properties, making it an ideal security solution for critical national infrastructure and other highly secure environments.
With a 20mm boron hardened steel closed shackle and 100mm hardened steel lock body – both infused with tungsten carbide – the SS100 LEV 5 builds upon Squire’s 245-year reputation for manufacturing high-quality, high performance security solutions.
Elsewhere on the Squire stand, MLA Show attendees will be able to discover inigma, Squire’s smart access wireless control system, which uses encrypted communication to control access to connected padlocks and cylinders.
With a Level 3 BSI™️ Kitemark for Secure Digital Applications (SDA), the highest possible grade unaccomplished by any other system, inigma provides a smart, highly secure security solution for a range of business uses.
Ideal for securing critical infrastructure and remote site locations, inigma allows users to give and revoke access and view comprehensive audit trails using the inigma app on a phone, tablet or desktop.
John Squire, CEO, explains: “We are looking forward to celebrating two milestones with attendees to the MLA Show. For 245 years, my family has focused on creating quality padlocks suitable for a variety of uses – from securing areas of the home to national infrastructure.
"We are pleased to introduce the SS100 LEV 5 to the Squire range, which further demonstrates our commitment to quality and ensuring that we’re at the forefront of security accreditations.
"Through my time as CEO of Squire, I have seen the security industry shift in many different ways, from how padlocks are tested to the introduction of smart security options, such as our inigma system. I am pleased that we have been able to keep our fingers on the pulse of innovation to move with the industry and keep our customers supplied with the quality solutions they require.”
